2007 Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Television Political Journalism

FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions

What is an entry?

An entry includes a completed entry form, an entry fee, and a DVD or Beta or VHS tape containing up to 40 commercial-free minutes of political coverage. The video may contain as many individual or related segments, or parts of a series, as a station, station group, network or individual would like to submit. The purpose of the video is to give judges an idea of the depth and breadth of an entrant’s 2006 political campaign coverage.

How many entries can a station, station group, network or individual submit?

A station, station group or individual may apply only once to a station, station group or individual category, but a network may submit more than one program to the network category. Also, multiple individuals from the same station may apply separately to the individual category. Each entry must include a fee, a completed entry form and two copies of a DVD or Beta or VHS tape.

Should we enter as a station, station group, or individual?

The station, station group or individual should determine the most relevant category for the entry. If unsure, entrants should attach a note explaining why they chose a particular category for their entry, and what other category might qualify. The judges will determine the appropriate category for the entry after considering all the entry materials.

Does a network entry have to be for one individual episode of a program, or for a single special program?

No, each network entry may contain clips from one or more episodes of an individual daily or weekly program that aired during 2006. Specials that are not part of a regularly scheduled daily or weekly program are not eligible.
