presented at a dinner to honor television networks, local
television stations, and individuals for political coverage
which excelled at informing viewers about their electoral choices
in 2000. Dinner program featured Walter
Cronkite, Norman Lear, special
guest Katharine Graham, The Washington
Post Company, John Cochran, ABC News Correspondent, Phil Jones,
CBS News Correspondent, and Paula Madison, General Manager of
KNBC-TV of Los Angeles. Four Season Hotel, Washington, D. C.
August 14-17, 2000: Los Angeles. The Reliable Resources project created Democracy Row – a unique tradeshow celebrating democracy and highlighting the importance of voter information, at the Los Angeles Convention Center during the Democratic National Convention. Democracy Row was an exposition of over 50 non-partisan organizations that are working to improve the quality, quantity, diversity and availability of reliable information about political candidates, campaigns and issues.
