Political Reporter Robert Mak and Producer Mike Cate generated more than a dozen ad watch segments for the KING-TV daily newscasts in the weeks leading up to the general election. The station also aired a one-hour special based on those ad watch pieces. The judges say Mak's pieces are a paradigm for the way Ad Watch stories should be reported, noting the extensive research evident in them, the subtlety in the reporting and the way the conclusions were presented.
